Oakland Triathlon Festival Ambassadors

Swetha Amit started her triathlon journey in 2017 at the age of 36 when she landed in California for the first time. After overcoming her fear Smetha Amitof swimming in the open water, she was hooked on the sport. She found the thrill of doing three sports at the same time an exhilarating experience. Within a year she has completed one Sprint distance, five Olympic distances and Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz with the support of her husband and 5-year-old daughter. Her journey has just begun and she has miles to go before she sleeps! Tracy Kleinheinz is a working mom and Bay Area triathlete. Her passion is supporting all women on their fitness journeys and encouraging moms to model an active lifestyle to inspire their families. She juggles triathlon training with her job as a Research Associate at Genentech.

Luis Andarcia, originally from Venezuela, moved to San Francisco in 2004. He is a competitive triathlete, and masters swimmer for over 25 years, he has participated in over 100 events from Ironman distance triathlons to open water swims, half marathons and super sprints. He shares his knowledge as a personal trainer, triathlon coach and indoor cycling instructor. Kay Dawson is in her third year of competing in triathlons. She started after getting bored of just running for entertainment. Seeing as she knew how to not drown and could ride a bike, she wondered how hard could it be?? Now addicted, and currently training for two half Ironman races later this year, she’s looking forward to racing on her home turf at Oakland Triathlon Festival 2019 and wearing her Oakland Triathlon Club (OTC) kit with pride. Kay is also a Board Member of OTC – ask her about why they’re the coolest club in the East Bay!
